Free Government Grants To Help You Turn Your Life Around
Whenever you hear the word ‘free,’ isn’t it quite natural to
be at least a bit skeptical? After all, there is normally some kind of catch
behind whatever is being offered as free.
However, there truly are a number of government grants for you to take
advantage of that are in fact free.
Did you know that you can claim thousands of dollars in
government money with little or no obligations attached whatsoever? Every day millions of dollars in free government
grants are given away to people for a very wide variety of reasons. It may be to help pay the bills, to start a
business, purchase a home, or other personal needs, there are free grants
waiting to help you in your time of need.
While millions of dollars are given away to people just like
you every year, there are millions of dollars that also go unclaimed in
numerous government and private grants.
This is all money that you could be using to help during these atrocious
economic times. It can help you pay
your medical bills, start a new career, continue your education… whatever.
Every year the government puts sends out billions of dollars in grants under several
different categories and programs. In
order for you to take advantage of these grants, all you need to do is apply
and qualify.
Normally, there are thousands of programs that you
can apply for in 2009. There are 1,000
Federal Programs, 24,000 State Programs, 30,000 Private Foundations and 20,000
Scholarship Programs. In all, you will
find that there are in excess of 1,500 government grant programs available
amongst 57 different federal agencies all waiting to help you out.
Something that many people are unaware of is the ability to
apply for multiple grants all at one time.
Although it is not guaranteed that you will get accepted for all or any
of them, there is no limit for how many free government grants you apply
for. You can essentially apply for
$15,000 in scholarship grant money and another $30,000 to help you get a small
business up and running. And if that
were not enough, you could then apply for another grant to help you pay your
bills in these difficult economic times.
All this is good and wonderful, but you may be
wondering, what are the application
requirements? This is one of the great part about government grants, there are no credit checks required, no need
for collateral, no need for co-signers, you do not have to repay the government
anything, and you can even apply with bad credit. All you need to do is apply online to start
The Hidden Truth About US Government Grant Programs
No One Mentions
Believe it or not, US
government grants are not given away for free. Contrary to popular
belief, the government of the United States is not giving away money in the
form of a grant.
What is a US
government grant?
First, a government grant is
not something that will be found under the tree on Christmas morning. It is not
a present. The American Government and Politics define a grant as a kind of a
gift that requires particular obligations on the grantee’s part and at the same
time, some expectations on the grantor’s part.
The best things in life are
– really – not free. This definitely applies to Grants.
Take note that a US
government grant entails some obligations. Though government grants, once
received, will seem to pour in, not being able to fulfill these grants can eventually lead to numerous legal problems.
Free government
grants: Is it really true or a scam?
Starting a business can be
very stressful especially if you have already run out of cash to do the basics
or the final touches. The least you would want when you are in this situation
is wrong information that initially lifts your spirit up only to pull it down
after having discovered that it was indeed a false hope.
How many young
entrepreneurs, like you perhaps, believe that you can get free money from the
government to start up their business? The reality is , that this has never
been true. Only possibly your parents will give you money with no strings
attached (and even here I said possibly) so don’t be fooled by many ads (and
there are many) that claim they can help you get this money.
If you are small
entrepreneur and you are eagerly hoping for cash from the government, please be
guided by the following facts:
1. Small “for profit”
businesses can hardly get free cash from the government because the money is
generally set aside for non-profit
organizations and small “non-profit” businesses that can provide jobs to the
poor and is located, usually, in a poor community.
2. Only businesses that are
linked to research and development of new technology can have a strong positive chance of getting of a government
grant, so if you are thinking of investing on a food franchise or opening up a
hardware store, do not get your hopes up too high on getting money from the Uncle Sam. Only those who
have the brightest minds in science and engineering can pass through these
hard-to-obtain funds. And, yes, they can be hard to obtain. Research projects can be
granted $100,000 funds and even $1 million for the production of possible
materials from the researched ideas.
3. Even if you are qualified for the grant, keep in mind
that government funds are not given anytime. They have
an application processes that has a time frame. So if you missed you chance to
submit your proposal, do not think of being approved just yet. You might have
to wait for the next cycle of application process or wait for a call to submit
project proposals. Find out what the specific time frame is and do your best to
file early so you can be at the front of the line.
4. There is hope you
can get government money but it is not all free. Funds for small businesses can
either be in the form of loans with interest or a mere 25% grant and a 75%
money contribution from you. Often, you have to report the progress of your
business in detail, so that the granting agency will know if you have spent the
money for it’s intended purpose or not.
